Description

McKamey Animal Center is an organization offering services for adoptions, animal population control, education and animal rescue.

Volunteers start at a Level I position.  After at least 40 hours at a Level I position, they may train for a Level II position.  These include the following:

Level I:

  • Dog Walker- Walk, socialize, and play with dogs .
  • Cat Butler- Socialize and play with cats available for adoption.
  • Administrative Assistant- Help  with filing and other duties.


Level II:

  • Caretaker- Clean and feed cats or dogs in our care.
  • Adoption assistant- Work with the adoption staff to help customers and help our animals find their forever homes.
  • Events assistant- Work at offsite events to educate the public 

Responsibilities

Please note: Level ll volunteers commit to a minimum of one 1-hour shift per week, at a time they choose that fits their schedule.  We are open to volunteers Tuesdays through Saturdays 7:30am to 7:00pm and Sundays and Mondays from 7:30am to 5:00pm.

Restrictions; All volunteers must be 16 years or older.So as not to take away valuable resources from  animals in our care, we ask for a one time commitment fee of $20 from volunteers to help us defray costs.
